Cell-shade Tutorial Thingy by kiku-maru Cell-shade Tutorial Thingy by kiku-maru
There're already bazillion similar tutorial in DA, I know, but I just kinda want to try making one, so... :iconmingplz: I admit that "save your work" part is stupid too, but pffffft, oh well.... ;w;
And mine definitely isn't the rightest one, but at least I'm sharing my experience. If there's anything you want to ask about this, just comment here, I'll answer it as best as I can :D

And since it's my first tutorial, I'm sure there'll be a lot of flaws here and there, any feedback is highly appreciated. :iconarigatouplz: also I'd love to see your artwork that was done with the help of this tutorial! :D

Oooh! Nice tuto! I can't say I like the lineart though, it looks a bit too much like vectors... If you add texture to the pen tool or if you do it with the brush tool it'll go away though ;)

thank you very much! I really appreciate it :XD:
you got a point there, but I think the cell-shade technique is better done with crisp and vector-like lineart, isn't it? :D that's just my opinion, though :)
but after I saw your drawings, I think I know what you mean, and probably will try your tips next :D thanks again!

Oh, yeah I forgot I draw a little different from that style n__n'
I can understand it's not the most adequate technique for you ^^' but I do have this friend who draws lineart with brushes :iconkiramekirai: and he does a sort of cell shade look bending with Namie-kun/Lulu-season style... It's not exactly what you are looking for but I thought it could be useful to mention.
We have also discussed that a soft-edged pen tool is most likely the best tool for a vector look, without looking too vectory.

It's advice anyways, it's perfectly fine if you might or might not decide to take it ^^

Anyways, keep the good work :D
